JAKARTA - Philippine police are investigating a murder case against an Australian couple and their Filipino relatives staying at a hotel in a tourist spot south of the capital Manila.
Hotel staff found David Fisk (57), his wife, an Australian citizen born in the Philippines, Lucita Cortez (55) and her relative Mary Jane Cortez (30), face down with her hands and feet tied and her face covered in tape on Wednesday, July 10.
"We saw the man had a wound on his neck and his blood was scattered on the floor," Tagaytay City Police Chief Charles Capagcuan told Reuters on Friday, July 12.
Meanwhile, the two women who died did not suffer any injuries, except for several bruises. The three bodies have been taken to the funeral home for an autopsy.
"We have coordinated with the families of the victims," Capagcuan said, saying crimes with violence including murder in the area are rare.
