JAKARTA - The riot occurred after a trial reading the verdict of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) at the Central Jakarta District Court. One of the journalists who became victims in the incident reported the alleged beating.

"Just now, I have made a report on the unpleasant actions while covering the SYL verdict hearing at the Central Jakarta Corruption Crime District Court (Tipikor)," said Mihya Vimala to reporters, Thursday, July 11.

"But when SYL came out, they immediately pushed them out, pushed them, finally caused a riot," continuedmenya.

As a result of the chaos, many journalists were caught. In fact, some work equipment was damaged.
