7 Witnesses Extorted By The KPK Regarding The Sale And Purchase Of Land In The Money Laundering Case Of The Former Head Of Makassar Customs

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the process of buying and selling land related to the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) of the former Head of Makassar Customs Andhi Pramono. There were seven witnesses who were questioned on Wednesday, July 10 yesterday.

KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika said the seven witnesses examined were private parties. They are David, Harijati, Boi Hwee, Lie Soi Tie, Tamrin, Tan Tjong Hue, and Kamaria.

"Confirmation of investigators (witnesses, ed) is present. The substance of the investigator's examination explores information related to the process of buying and selling land to AP and his family," said Tessa in a written statement.

As for this case, Andhi's land has been confiscated by the anti-corruption commission. It is suspected that this asset is related to the alleged money laundering that is being handled.

The confiscated land area reached 2,597 square meters. The location is in Kenten Laut Village, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) that ensnared Andhi Pramono, who is the former Head of Makassar Customs and Excise. This step was taken to develop a gratification case that was first handled due to irregularities in the property report of state administrators (LHKPN).

In the gratification case, Andhi has been tried at the Jakarta Corruption Court. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the panel of judges.

In this case, Andhi is said to have received gratuities of up to IDR 58,974,116,189. Acceptance came from a number of parties related to the management of import customs when he was in office.

The details of the receipt are IDR 50,286,275,189.79. Then he received 264,500 US dollars or equivalent to IDR 3,800,871,000 and 409 thousand Singapore dollars or equivalent to IDR 4,886,970,000.

The sentence was then increased to 12 years in prison by the Jakarta High Court on Thursday, June 6. He was legally and convincingly proven to have received gratuities during his tenure.
