JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is currently compiling a memorandum of cassation as a follow-up to the acquittal handed down by the Panel of Judges at the District Court (PN) Stabat, Langkat, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), to the former Regent of Langkat Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin on the case of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO). The case that ensnared the former Regent of Langkat originated from the discovery of the practice of human cages in his private residence, in Raja Tengah Village, Kuala District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra on January 19, 2022 This human cage will be said to be used to 'isolate' the oil palm plantation worker belonging to Terbit. However, he claimed that the 6 x 6 meter human cage which was divided into two rooms was a cell to foster drug abuse perpetrators. The police said that the human cage in question did not yet have a permit and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and confirmed that the cage in Terbit's house could not be called a place of rehabilitation.
