JAKARTA - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) managed to evacuate 85 victims of landslides in the people's gold mining area in East Tulabolo Village, East Suwawa, Bone Bolango, Gorontalo, in a safe condition. "The majority of the dozens of survivors are miners and some of their family members who were landslides were in the vicinity of the mining area," said the Basarnas SAR Operations Coordination Center report received in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 10. One of the survivors is a six-year-old boy who has now returned to his family after being confirmed to be healthy by health team officers at the main post of SAR operations in East Tulabolo Village. In addition, the joint SAR team in the fourth day of operation also evacuated a total of 23 people who were dead. The victim's body was transported by helicopter to be identified by the National Police DVI team in Gorontalo before being handed over to the family. With these findings, it is known that there are still 32 missing victims in the search, out of a total of 140 landslide victims who were officially registered at the main post of SAR operations until Wednesday afternoon. Previously, the Head of Basarnas Kusrowo revealed that his party was trying to deploy additional heavy equipment to maximize the search and evacuation of victims. In addition, there are additional helicopters. Currently, the joint SAR team still relies on one helicopter assistance from the National Police and two heavy excavators, including a number of agricultural alcon machines that function to spray piles of soil in search of victims. Based on the results of his monitoring on Tuesday (9/7) evening, access from the post to the disaster site is tens of kilometers deep in hilly forest or it will take at least four to five hours in infantry.

According to him, the travel time of 1,009 joint SAR personnel can be even longer if the rain continues to pour, unstable soil conditions and at several points must cross the bridge so that it needs helicopters to overcome these difficulties.
