PDIP Sindir Jokowi About IKN: Don't Be Too Pede, Originally Ready It Turned Out Not

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Djarot Syaiful Hidayat alluded to the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) which was delayed from the target. Djarot satirized President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was too confident in his office and held the Independence Day ceremony on August 17.

According to Djarot, moving the nation's capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan is not easy, so there is no need to force it. In fact, what is there, the infrastructure is not all ready.

"If the results are too forced, yes, that's the result. Electricity has not yet entered, water has not yet entered, infrastructure is still not ready, yes, what does it mean, this is one of the consequences of hasty policies, especially in its implementation, in its execution," said Djarot, Tuesday, July 9.

"So my advice, right, don't force it, that's why at the beginning don't be too smart, you said before, you said you were very ready, yes, it wasn't yet," he continued.

The member of Commission IV of the DPR predicts that IKN development will be lax in the next government. Because the budget has been focused on other allocations.

"I predict that if the burden is given to the government before and after it gets a bit heavy, not to mention that the free lunch budget has been extracted which has been approved, the benchmark is IDR 70 trillion, so don't expect it," said Djarot.

Previously, President Joko Widodo admitted that he was ready to start based in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) when the water, electricity, and office locations for him were ready.

However, based on a report from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Jokowi said the facilities and infrastructure were not ready.

"Is the water ready yet? Is the electricity ready yet? Is the place ready yet? If you are ready, move," said Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Monday, July 8.

"It (got a report from the Ministry of PUPR), but not yet (not ready). Already, but not yet," he added.

President Jokowi previously also said that the presidential decree regarding the relocation of the State Capital (IKN) from Jakarta to East Kalimantan had not yet been completed.

He also opened up the opportunity for the new presidential decree to be issued by Prabowo Subianto after officially serving as president.
