Responding To Megawati, KPK Chairman Nawawi Ordered Rossa Purba's Subordinates To Continue To Find Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango asked his investigators, Rossa Purba Bekti to continue working as head of the task force (kasatgas) in the Harun Masiku case. This order has been conveyed to the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution and the Director of Investigation of the KPK.

"I have asked the Deputy for Enforcement and Director of Sidik to ask Kasatgas Rossa to continue his work according to the sprindik given to him," Nawawi told reporters via text message quoted on Tuesday, July 9.

Nawawi also asked Rossa to stay focused on carrying out his duties. "Without having to respond to anything that could interfere with his work," he said.

Furthermore, Nawawi ensured that investigators could not work without the direction of the leadership. He is ready to account for the actions of his subordinates in an investigation effort.

"We are the leaders responsible for the work of the fingerprinting task force," he said.

Previously reported, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was surprised that her cadres were often targeted by law enforcement officers. He even conveyed this directly to the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasona H. Laoly.

This was revealed by Megawati in her speech on the taking of the oath of oath of office of the PDIP DPP board for the 2019-2024 term of service which was extended until 2025.

"Pak Laoly is laughing, I like to talk to him, (you) are ministers, what are you doing, you know? Our subordinates want it to be targeted," said Megawati at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Friday, July 5.

One of the cases highlighted by Megawati was the summons of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto by the KPK as a witness to the Harun Masiku case. PDIP felt pressured by the anti-corruption commission because the personal goods of its cadres and staff were confiscated

Megawati emphasized that the KPK should not carry out its duties by ignoring the rights of citizens. Megawati also said that the institution was founded while serving as the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"KPK it was me who made it. How could I not know the contents of people's stomach I made, you know. My MK made it. It's not that I'm arrogant. Ask, who made it. So I know the rules, how should it be, it can't be manipulated," said Megawati.

On that occasion, Megawati also asked Hasto not to be afraid of investigators who handled the Harun Masiku case, Rossa Purba Bekti. "It's okay, who is he? Hehe... Is that right," he said.
