JAKARTA - Ukraine will retaliate against Russian missile attacks that killed 29 people and damaged children's hospitals in Kyiv.

Zelenskyy said Kyiv wanted to be able to use weapons supplied by his partners to attack locations in Russia where attacks were launched.
"I think we really want to accept such a decision from our partners," he said. Or they want to see a strike again," he continued.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine was waiting for concrete steps from its Western partners to strengthen air defenses and protect its energy sector.
He said Kyiv was initiating an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the Russian attack.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland was discussing how they could help provide energy for Ukraine before winter when Russia targets Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian presidents also said Poland was open to the idea of shooting down Russian missiles heading towards NATO territory while they were still in Ukrainian territory.
"We need clear cooperation in NATO here, as such actions require shared responsibility with NATO... we are open to it, logic shows that this will definitely be a more effective action," he said.
This agreement with Poland is the 21st agreement signed by Kyiv with countries including the United States, Britain, France and Germany.
