Today, The Fate Of Peti Setiawan Is Determined At The Bandung District Court

The fate of Pegi Setiawan will be determined in the trial of the pretrial decision at the Bandung District Court, Monday, July 8. In this trial, the legal or not determination of the status of Pegi who is a suspect in the murder case of Vina and Eky will be determined.

Sitting as a petitioner is the Pegi Setiawan camp through his legal team, while the defendant is the West Java Regional Police. The pretrial hearing with case number 10/Pid.Pra/2024/PN Bdg will be chaired by the sole judge Eman Sulaeman.

"The trial will continue Monday, July 8, 2024 at 09.00 WIB, with an agenda for reading pretrial decisions," said Eman, Friday last week.

The previous series of Pegi pretrial hearings took place for 5 days last week. The last trial closed with the submission of conclusions from both parties, namely the applicant and the respondent.

In essence, the trial of Pegi Setiawan will determine whether or not the status of the suspect is valid in the 2016 murder case of Vina and Eky in Cirebon. In the pretrial hearing, the attorney stated that the determination of his talent as a suspect in the Vina and Eky cases was an error in persona.

Pedi's attorney believes his client is a victim of wrongful arrest. The West Java Regional Police is said to have no strong evidence in determining the suspect Pegi.

The attorney also encountered the failure of one of them because the physical characteristics of Pegi Setiawan were different from the characteristics of Pegi alias Perong, who is a DPO of the West Java Police in the cases of Vina and Eky.

However, the West Java Regional Police remain confident that Pegi Setiawan is Pegi Perong. The West Java Regional Police believes that all the evidence, testimony, and clues that have been collected by investigators show that Pegi Setiawan is a relevant figure in this case.

At the Pegi pretrial hearing, the judge ensured that he would give an objective decision.

"From the start I said, I had no interest in this case. I will decide objectively, there is no pressure from anywhere. I will ignore it even if there is," said Eman.
