The Central Lampung Police have named a member of the Central Lampung DPRD with the initials MSM as a suspect in the death of a resident due to gunfire belonging to him (Ist).

Central Lampung Police have named a member of the Central Lampung DPRD with the initials MSM as a suspect in the death of a resident as a result of his firearm. The suspect was named after Central Lampung Police investigators conducted an examination of MSM for more than 10 hours. The DPRD member from the Gerindra faction was arrested by the police after the death of Salam (35) as a result of being hit by a stray bullet from MSM's firearm on Saturday, July 6, 2024 morning. After securing MSM, The police then conducted a search of three houses belonging to MSM in the areas of Central Lampung and Metro. As a result, the police confiscated evidence of four firearms along with dozens of rounds of ammunition. The firearms belonging to MSM that were confiscated by the police, namely one Zoraki MOD 914-T firearm, one magazine, four ammunition casings, one FNC BELGIA long-barreled firearm, one magazine, one green bag, one HS firearm, one magazine. one revolver copra firearm, two magazines, 60 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, 34 rounds of 9 mm caliber ammunition. In addition, the police also confiscated other evidence in the form of two empty firearms and one box of empty firearms cleaning equipment. One Garuda Shooting Club letter, four 5.56 mm caliber ammunition casings, three 9 mm caliber ammunition casings, one cap, and MSM's black trousers. It is known that the bullet that killed Salam occurred at a wedding party in Mataram Ilir Village, Seputih District, Surabaya, Central Lampung, Saturday morning at around 10.00 WIB. At the time of the incident, MSM and his family were attending a wedding party held by relatives. At the wedding party, MSM participated in welcoming the arrival of the bride and groom. At that time, MSM intended to enliven the reception with the sound of a firearm eruption that was previously common during the Lampung traditional party. Before firing a firearm His, MSM checked ammunition in his firearm by shooting upwards. However, unfortunately the firearm contained bullets and targeted the head of a resident named Salam. Greetings sitting on a culvert in the vicinity of the incident fell to the ground covered in blood with gunshot wounds to the head through the temple. Residents then took the victim Salam to the local health clinic. However, Salam was declared dead from a gunshot wound to his head. From information gathered, the victim was hit by a stray bullet with a distance of about 15 meters. At the time of the incident, MSM carried three firearms, namely an FN pistol and an SS1 long-barreled rifle. Central Lampung Police Chief, AKBP Andik Purnomo Sigi said the victim and the perpetrator still had a family relationship. The victim of Salam is the uncle of the MSM perpetrator. "In that incident, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head due to an eruption of an organic weapon of the type of revolver that was held by Muhammad Saleh Mukadam or MSM," said Andik Purnomo Sigit during a conference at the Central Lampung Police Headquarters, Sunday, July 7. The victim suffered a wound to the left ear that penetrated the forehead to the right side of the head. At the wedding party, MSM was appointed by residents of community leaders who sounded firearms.

Andik Purnomo Sigit added, after the victim was shot, MSM had taken the victim to the nearest health center. "However, because the victim was critically taken to a hospital. Arriving at the hospital the victim was declared dead," added Andik. For investigation purposes, the victim's body is currently at Bhayangkara Hospital for an autopsy. To account for his actions, MSM is currently being held at the Central Lampung Police. The police charged MSM with Article 359 of the Criminal Code and Article 1, paragraph of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning Firearms. With the article that ensnared him, MSM faces a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
