JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin invites all Muslims to live up to the meaning of the Islamic New Year 1446 Hijri/2024 AD by always increasing faith and piety. This was conveyed by the Vice President through an Instagram social media upload @kyai_marufamin which was monitored in Jakarta, Sunday, July 7. "I wish you a Happy Islamic New Year 1 Muharam 1446 Hijri to all Muslims in the country. Hopefully we can live up to the meaning of the Islamic New Year by always increasing faith and piety," said Ma'ruf. He also invited the meaning of the Islamic New Year to be challenged by increasing positive contributions to the life of the community, nation and state. Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also invited Muslims to make the Islamic New Year 1446 Hijri a momentum to increase piety and faith in Allah SWT. The President through his Instagram account @jokowi expressed his prayers and hopes that this Islamic New Year will bring peace, happiness, and success to all Indonesian people.

The Hijri New Year is based on the hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW from Makkah to Medina as a symbol of struggle and sacrifice in seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT. The Prophet Muhammad SAW faced various challenges and obstacles, but with patience and sincerity, he succeeded in building a just and prosperous society in Medina.
