State Losses Audit Completed, KPK Signs Immediately Detain Suspect In PPE Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has pocketed the results of the calculation of state losses in the corruption case in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). The suspect in this case is required to be detained immediately.

"The results of this audit have been completed," said KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur to reporters quoted from the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Saturday, July 6.

Asep said the results of this calculation of losses were one proof. This is because the suspects in this case are subject to Article 2 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law.

Thus, forced detention will be carried out later. Of course, the adequacy of evidence, including one in Article 2 or Article 3 is the existence of state financial losses. Where at least there is the result of calculating state losses," he said.

"So if we are sure that the elements of the article have been fulfilled, we will immediately make forced efforts," continued Asep.

Previously reported, the KPK named three suspects in the corruption case in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) whose investigations were carried out since September 2023. The amount of state losses reached hundreds of billions of rupiah.

"The KPK has named three suspects with alleged state losses of Rp. 300 billion," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 3.

Tessa did not specify the identities of the suspects in this case. However, from the information circulating they are former Commitment Making Officers (PPK) and Head of the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health Budi Badika; President Director of PT Permana Putra Mandiri (PPM), Ahmad Taufik and President Director of PT Energi Kita Indonesia (EKI), Satrio Wibowo.

The state loss figure in this case was originally referred to as Rp625 billion. This change is due to differences in the existing processes in the investigation and investigation.
