Di Hadapan Hakim, SYL Pamer Award Selama Jadi ASN

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) shows off a number of achievements that have been achieved during his time as a state civil servant (ASN) and career bureaucrat.

It started when SYL said he had been in a career as an ASN for 44 years. Starting as village head, sub-district head, regent, deputy governor, governor until he was trusted as minister.

During his tenure as Head of Karabase Village, SYL admitted that he had received an award for village competitions throughout South Sulawesi Province. Then, when he was the sub-district head of Bontonompo, SYL won the title of Exemplary Sub-district in South Sulawesi in 1984.

SYL also explained that he had the opportunity to attend the celebration of Independence Day on August 17 at the State Palace with role models throughout Indonesia.

"At that time, I was the youngest sub-district head in Indonesia," said SYL during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, July 5.

Then, when he served as Regent of Gowa, SYL said that he had received the Upakarti Award for agriculture from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 1997. Then, he also received the Manggala Karya Kencana Award and the Bakti Koperasi and Small Entrepreneur award from the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs.

The former Minister of Agriculture also said that he had won 226 awards, including Bintang Mahaputra Utama for Agriculture (2011), the Honorary Sign of Parasamya Purnakarya Nugraha (2014), the Best Province in public services from the Ombudsman (2015) and Satya Lencana Pembangunan Agricultural at Increased Rice Production (2008 and 2009) when he was Governor of South Sulawesi.

The award in the 'leadership award' from the Minister of Home Affairs (2018). The man who received the title of Honorary Professor from Hasanuddin University (Unhas) also won the Astha Barata Madya Utama Pamong Praja Star award from the Institute of Domestic Administration/IPDN (2018).

When SYL served as Minister of Agriculture, he won 71 awards. Among them, an award from the Coordinating Minister for the Economy regarding the Achievement of the Distribution of Agricultural People's Business Credit (2022). Then became an Inspirational Figure of Indonesian Agriculture (2023).

Not only that, while leading the Ministry of Agriculture, SYL also received awards from the KPK, including the Best Anti-Gratification Award (2018) and the Best LHKPN Management Award (2019).

"I received an award from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the form of the Best Anti-Gratification Award in 2018-2019, the 2019 Best LHKPN Management Award, the National Action Certificate for Corruption Prevention/ANPK for the management of data on the distribution of fertilizer subsidies with the use of NIK in 2020 and the Application for the Inauguration of the Corruption-Free Region Program in several Ministry of Agriculture work units throughout Indonesia," said SYL.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, SYL was charged with imprisonment of 12 years and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

The former Minister of Agriculture was also charged with paying replacement money of around Rp44 billion and US$ 30 thousand.

The claim was given because the prosecutor believed that SYL violated Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
