Pegi Setiawan's Camp Values Criminal Expert's Statement From The West Java Police Independent

BANDUNG - Pedi Setiawan's legal team assessed that the information from the legal expert presented by the defendant, namely the West Java Regional Police, was not independent in giving testimony at the follow-up trial of Pangi Setiawan's pretrial at the Bandung District Court (PN).

Pegi Setiawan's attorney, Muchtar Effendi, assessed that the criminal law expert from Pancasila University Agus Surono did not give a comprehensive testimony, especially to the questions raised by his party.

"So it's really very non-independent if I say, because everything boils down to two pieces of evidence. Asked this, the answer is two pieces of evidence. Asked that, the answer is two pieces of evidence," Muchtar said in Bandung, Thursday, July 4, confiscated by Antara.

Muchtar revealed that the expert witness from the West Java Regional Police tended to fail to provide information that prevented the answers given from developing.

"So this expert's answer does not develop to find out what the conclusion will be. Tomorrow we are required to make conclusions, how do we want to develop our analysis, about this case, if we always say two pieces of evidence," he said.

His party assessed that the legal expert witness presented by the West Java Regional Police could be independent in giving his statement.

"Although this expert is an expert who was brought in by the Regional Police, he must be independent, professional. He risks integrity," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Legal for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Nurhadi Handayani, said that the experts presented had comprehensively answered the petitioner's question, namely Pegi Setiawan's attorney and included questions from the West Java Regional Police.

"He has comprehensively explained several questions raised by the petitioners and from ourselves," said Nurhadi.
