JAKARTA - Mexican authorities found 19 bodies suspected of being linked to a shootout between criminal gangs in the southern state of Chiapas.

The 19 bodies were reportedly found piled up around garbage trucks in the area dominated by cartels in Mexico.

Authorities said 14 male bodies were piled up in trash trucks, two more were found in the cabin, two outside the truck and another body was found about 90 meters.

The victims were shot dead.

The murder is thought to be linked to a bloody dispute between the Sinaloa drug cartel and its rival gang known as the Mexican and Guatemalan Cartels.

The last gang may have ties to Sinaloa's arch-rival, the jalisco cartel, reported 1News.
