2 Members Of The House Of Representatives Involved In Online Gambling, Deposit Value Is IDR 500 Thousand

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) has received a report from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as well as the Head of the Online Judi Task Force regarding the existence of two members of the DPR involved in online gambling.

According to MKD, the deposit value of the two members of the DPR in playing online gambling was not more than IDR 500 thousand. "IDR 500 thousand, both," said Deputy Chairman of the MKD DPR RI, Habiburokhman at the MKD DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 2.

The Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR confirmed that the two members of the DPR RI suspected online gamblers would soon be questioned by the MKD for clarification. However, according to him, MKD has no intention of following up on the report to legal channels. Moreover, the nominal amount of money only reached Rp. 500 thousand.

"The APH (law enforcement officers, ed) what kind of person is Rp. 500 thousand," he said.

Habiburokhman also emphasized that data on DPR members involved in online gambling were not 82 people as referred to as PPATK, but only 2 people. Meanwhile, overall, there are 58 employees who work within the DPR who are also involved in online gambling. The value of the circulation of money only reached Rp1.926 billion, not Rp25 billion, as stated by PPATK in a meeting with Commission III of the DPR some time ago.
