Not 82 People, MKD Calls 2 Members Of The DPR Involved In Online Gambling

JAKARTA - The MKD of the DPR RI received an official letter regarding the report of a member of the DPR who was involved in online gambling from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, as the Head of the Online Judi Eradication Task Force. Not 82 people, according to the PPATK report, MKD said that only two members of the DPR were involved in online gambling, as well as 58 employees who worked within the DPR RI. "Today we received an official letter from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as chairman of the online gambling task force. So it turns out that after the official letter was studied, two members of the House of Representatives (DPR) were reported to be playing gambling, suspected yes, and a number of employees rather than the DPR RI, around 58," said the Chairman of the MKD DPR, Adang Daradjatun, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 2. The two members of the DPR, said Adang, are also still suspected perpetrators of judol. Thus, MKD will still explore the roles of these two members. "Meanwhile, we are still suspected, therefore we will investigate. So the two members of the DPR RI who were officially reported this morning," he said. Deputy Chairman of the MKD, Habiburokhman, explained that in the statement of the letter submitted by PPATK, 58 people were written as working in the DPR. So according to him, the 58 people are believed to be staff. "58 people are staff, employees, so it is not necessarily members of the DPR RI. Indeed, there are two members of the DPR RI, that is also suspected, we will first investigate and clarify to the person concerned," he said. Habiburokhman reiterated that the data on DPR members being involved in online gambling were not 82 people but only 2 people. Meanwhile, the value reached Rp1.926 billion, not Rp25 billion, as stated by PPATK in a meeting with Commission III of the DPR some time ago. Adang added that the MKD would immediately summon two members of the DPR suspected of being the perpetrators of online gambling as soon as possible.

"Yes, as soon as possible, we will definitely do it. As Mr. Habib said, that it was a person who worked in the DPR, not a member, so just remember that it was only the fua of members of the DPR and 58 people who worked in the DPR building," he said.
