Nawawi Pernah Tegur Ghufron Gara-gara Laporkan Dewas KPK Usai Diduga Langgar Etik

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango admitted that he had reprimanded one of his representatives, Nurul Ghufron.

This was conveyed by Nawawi during a working meeting between the KPK and Commission III of the DPR, at the DPR building. Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 1. He said this warning was conveyed after Ghufron reported the KPK Supervisory Board when investigating alleged ethical violations.

"We are not interfering with Pak Nurul's business, Mr. Nurul Ghufron (but, ed) I once reprimanded the person concerned why should he report it," Nawawi said as quoted in the DPR RI YouTube show.

Nawawi said that his party could not do much about the polemic between Ghufron and the KPK Supervisory Board. However, he agrees that this incident will heat up the relationship between the leadership and the supervisory board.

"It is a matter of the person concerned that we cannot (block, ed) from being taken in the institutional position of the KPK. Collective collegial is the attitude concerned," he said.

"That the impact is getting worse for the situation, that's something else," he continued.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police in the midst of investigating suspected ethical violations. The report was recorded with the number LP/B/138/V/2024/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri on May 6.

He accused the KPK Council of defaming his reputation and abusing his authority. Meanwhile, Ghufron is suspected of violating ethics because he helped the mutation of the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

The employee he helped was the son-in-law of his colleague. Responding to this report, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, admitted that he was surprised.

This is because the investigation into alleged ethical violations committed by Ghufron should be proof that they have worked. Heran, that's right. We are all surprised. That's all. We are surprised because we carried out the mandate of the law as the appointed official," said Tumpak to reporters at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 21.

Even so, Tumpak admitted that he did not know about the report made by Ghufron. He admitted that he only heard about it from a number of reports.

"We don't know what it says yet, what was reported, what was said to be defamatory, what was said to be abuse of authority," he stressed.

"What I know is that the KPK Council carries out its duties, carries out the duties of the law, everyone who carries out their duties according to the law and also does not know whether to commit a criminal act is his name," continued Tumpak.

Currently, the investigation into the alleged ethics has stopped. The reason is that the KPK Council is waiting for the decision of the State Administrative Court (PTUN) after the lawsuit was filed by Nurul Ghufron.
