JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin appreciated the cooperation between Indonesia and Azerbaijan in developing public services.
"Expressing and thanking Azerbaijan for being inspired by public services in Azerbaijan, Indonesia has developed very good public services," said the Vice President after receiving a visit from the Head of the Public Service and Social Innovation Agency, Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, July 1, confiscated by Antara.
The vice president said that initially, public service malls were first established in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java (East Java) and currently there are 200 public service malls spread across districts/cities.
"From one district in Banyuwangi, now it has become 200 districts and we have developed it until all regencies/cities 500 we will build public services," said the Vice President.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said public services in Azerbaijan had received recognition from the United Nations (UN).
Meanwhile, the public service center system in the Kaukasus regional country is called the Xidmat reason.
"This Azerbaijan received recognition from the United Nations for integrating services into a mall. In fact, he has a bus that goes around picking up public services in various places and on the bus starts taking photos and is immediately printed in that place so the ball pick-up is extraordinary," Azwar said in a press statement after the meeting.
He said Indonesia and Azerbaijan had also collaborated in the public service sector since 2017.
"So, this MoU (memorandum of understanding) has been around since 2017 and we have just updated the MoU with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has almost the same characteristics, its country is Muslim and its services are extraordinary. More than 200 services in one place and now they are continuing to run it," said Azwar.

Azwar also said that when he was the Regent of Banyuwangi, he had also visited Azerbaijan to learn about public services in the country.
"This is our visit reply and the relationship with Azerbaijan in our opinion is very good. Since becoming the 2014 regent, we have come to Azerbaijan and we replicated in Banyuwangi and now the government is replicating in various services. Even though now public service malls are moving to another level, there are digital public service malls, so some are starting to be digital-based," he said.
To note, Azwar in October 2023 visited Azerbaijan to strengthen the collaboration of the public service sector between the two countries.
In his meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister (PM) Ali Asadov in Baku, Azerbaijan, Azwar said the two countries had historical close ties in the trade sector and public services.
"Indonesia and Azerbaijan both pay great attention to public services. In Indonesia, President Jokowi also continues to encourage innovation in public services to be implemented, so that bureaucratic performance really has an impact; it is no longer input or administrative-oriented, but must also be based on results with impacts that can be directly felt by the people, such as poverty reduction, unemployment, and stunting," he said.
