JAKARTA - A ship captain reported a five-missile attack near his ship in the Red Sea, the port city of Hodeidah in Yemen.

The UK Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) said there was no damage to the ship. The ship is now continuing its voyage to the north, reported by Reuters, Friday, June 28.

UKMTO did not provide information about the ship or its cargo.

International shipments have been disrupted since November due to attacks in the region launched by Yemen-based Houthi militants.

Many ships have since chosen to avoid the Red Sea route to the Suez Canal, and chose to travel further around the southern tip of Africa.

The Houthi group in partnership with Iran said the attack was a form of solidarity with Palestinians in the war between Israel and the Islamist Islamist Hamas militant group that controls Gaza.
