Following Up On The Constitutional Court's Decision, KPU Cianjur Counts Re-voting At 4 TPS

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Cianjur Regency followed up on the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) by recounting ballots (PUSS) at four polling stations (TPS) in Mentengsari Village, Cikalongkulon District, Thursday 27 June.

Chairman of the KPU Cianjur Regency Muchamad Ridwan said the PUSS took place at the Cianjur Regency KPU Logistics Warehouse, Babakankaret Village, Cianjur District. This PUSS was attended by officers from four polling stations, witnesses from political parties, TNI/Polri, and Bawaslu Cianjur Regency.

"In accordance with the Constitutional Court's decision, the Cianjur Regency KPU was ordered to conduct a PUSS at TPS 12, 13, 14, 16, and re-voting (PSU) at TPS 15 Mentengsari Village, Cikalongkulon District," he said in Cianjur, Thursday, June 27, which was confiscated by Antara.

The PUSS started Thursday by opening the ballot box for the legislative members (pileg) of TPS 12 Mentengsari Village, Cikalongkulon District, Electoral District 3 Cianjur.

Officers from the KPU who opened and re-checked ballots in front of political party witnesses to calculate one by one ballot boxes, it took approximately 1 hour with an estimated completion before 20.00 WIB.

He mentioned that there were 276 DPTs at TPS 12, 258 ballots at TPS 13, 252 ballots at TPS 14, and 219 ballots at TPS 16.

PUSS is open to the public. However, still with tight security from the TNI/Polri, Cianjur District Attorney's Office, Cianjur Regency Bawaslu, as well as witnesses from PKS, Gerindra, NasDem, PDI Perjuangan, and PAN.

"Until 17.30 WIB, the calculation is still ongoing and it is estimated that it will be completed before 20.00 WIB. Furthermore, the results of the recount will be reported to the West Java Provincial KPU, the Indonesian KPU, and the Constitutional Court," he said.

Previously, on June 6, 2024, the Constitutional Court decided and ordered PSU at TPS 15 and PUSS at TPS 12, 13, 14, and 16 Mentengsari Villages, Cikalongkulon District. The implementation must be carried out no later than 30 days after the verdict.
