Searching West Bandung Regent's Office AA Umbara, KPK Finds Documents Related To Corruption

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found documents related to the alleged corruption case in the procurement of goods for the COVID-19 pandemic response at the West Bandung Social Service. These documents were found in three places that were searched, one of which was the office of West Bandung Regent Aa Umbara.

"Various evidences were found and secured including documents related to the case in question," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, March 17.

Documents related to this case were also found in two other houses, including Aa Umbara's private house.

After the documents are found, then investigators will carry out validation and verification. This is done before the confiscation is carried out in order to complete the case file for the investigation of the alleged corruption.

Previously reported, the KPK was investigating the alleged corruption case at the West Bandung Social Service. This investigation was carried out in relation to allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.

However, the KPK has not publicly provided a complete description of this case as well as the party designated as a suspect.

Because, according to the provisions during the leadership of Firli Bahuri, cs, the announcement of the suspect will be made when KPK investigators have made attempts to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.

In addition, the suspect's announcement and case construction have not been announced because investigators are still completing their work.
