JAKARTA - The National Police has handed over the suspect Don Ritto and evidence of the alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case to the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung).
Deputy Head of the National Police's Anti-Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) Brigadier General Boro Windu said the transfer was a continuation of the handling of the case.
"Today, the process continues with the delivery of the suspects, electronic evidence, and non-electronic evidence to the Attorney General's Office as part of the stages of handling the case," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 17.
According to Boro, after the transfer, the next investigation process is entirely the responsibility of the Attorney General's Office.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto said that the evidence that was handed over included cash of Rp. 6.059 billion, 74 gold bars weighing around 74.01 kilograms, cash worth 6,370,921 US dollars, and 16,068,804 Singapore dollars.
All the evidence has been examined by authorized agencies, including Bank Indonesia, PT Pegadaian, the United States Secret Service, and the Forensic Laboratory Center of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.
"Including related to several other foreign currencies, forensic laboratory tests were also carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police," said Budi.
At the Kejagung Jampidsus building, evidence was brought using suitcases, containers, cardboard, and safes.
Don Ritto arrived at the Jampidsus building at around 14.16 WIB wearing an orange prisoner vest.
Previously, on Saturday (11/7), the National Police announced the transfer of handling three cases to the Attorney General's Office, namely alleged corruption in coal governance, alleged corruption in PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya 2020-2025, and alleged money laundering in the settlement of PT CBS's debt to PT KNI.
The transfer was carried out based on an agreement between the National Police and the Attorney General's Office as a form of synergy in law enforcement.
In this case, the National Police has named former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah and private party Don Ritto as suspects of alleged corruption and TPPU.
