MKD Will Directly Investigate DPR Members Involved In Online Gambling Without Complaints

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) will immediately follow up on DPR members who are involved in online gambling without having any complaints.

Currently, the DPR MKD is waiting for data from the Head of PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana regarding the names of the DPR members.

Deputy Chairman of the DPR MKD Trimedya Panjaitan stated that the PPATK report was sufficient to become the basis for the DPR MKD to investigate the members of the DPR who were involved in online gambling.

"We'll just have to wait, hopefully this week PPATK has submitted it. If there is (data of DPR members being involved in judol, ed) it will be done as soon as possible and immediately sent," said Trimedya, Thursday, June 27.

According to this member of Commission III of the DPR, members of the DPR who are proven to be involved in online gambling can be fired by the DPR MKD. In addition to the dismissal sanctions, said Trimedya, they can also be given a written or verbal warning.

"If the heaviest sanctions are dismissal, from verbal, written, to dismissal, dishonorable dismissal," he said.

Therefore, Trimedya said, the DPR MKD would first look at the data provided by PPATK. Then, MKD will validate the violation to be given sanctions.

"Hopefully there is a narrative too, so for example, what is the member of DPR RI, A like him playing, he plays small parties or big parties, he is just a player or a dealer maybe too, or he invites his friends or whatever," explained Trimedya.

"Well, we will qualify as I said earlier. Then in time as soon as possible, it's not difficult, right, because if the PPATK report is ripe," he continued.

Trimedya ensured that the DPR MKD would convey the results of the investigation to the public.

"Furthermore, we will convey it to the public if we have received the report from PPATK, that is it," he concluded.
