Wednesday Morning Parts Of The Mukomuko Area Covered With Rotten Smoke Fog, BPBD Searches For Sources

MUKOMUKO - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, is still looking for a source of smog that enveloped parts of the Mukomuko City District this morning. "Until now we are still looking for the source, in the sense of whether it is forest fires or natural phenomena," said Head of the Mukomuko Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Ruri Irwandi in Mukomuko, Wednesday. He said this after seeing the condition of some areas in Mukomuko City District which began to be shrouded in smog on Wednesday morning, but the cause is not yet known. His party has also not yet received reports from the sub-district or village authorities that there were forest and land fires in the area. Although this area has begun to enter the summer weather, the focus of activities in preventing forest and land fires (karhutla) has not existed until now. "Until now, we have not received a letter from the Bengkulu Province BPBD even though this area has started entering the dry season, but has not received a letter," he said. He said that if there was a circular letter from the Bengkulu Province BPBD regarding the prevention of forest and land fires, then a letter from the province would be socialized to the public. Then for the preparation of equipment to prevent forest and land fires in its agency, namely equipment that had been used previously for extinguishing fires and land. "We have a water pump engine, but it's not optimal, only this equipment only functions to extinguish fires," he said. For handling forest and land fires, there are several relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD) involved such as the Fire and Rescue Service. A resident of Ujung Padang Village, Mukomuko City District, Muklis, said he was surprised after seeing a smog surrounding the area on Wednesday morning at around WIB until WIB.

The smoke fog that enveloped the village area made visibility short. The smell of this smog is also rotten.
