Peak Of 40th National Children's Day Held In Papua, Jokowi And Thousands Of Children Scheduled To Attend

JAYAPURA - The Jayapura Regency Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) stated that approximately 5,000-7,000 children throughout Indonesia will attend and enliven the peak of 40th National Children's Day (HAN) on July 23, 2024.

The HAN Peak will be held at the Papua Bangkit Stadium, Kampung Harapan, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province.

Head of Jayapura Regency DP3A Miryam Y Soumilena in Sentani, Monday said that his party had held a meeting with the central and provincial committee six times.

"The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Investment/Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, where we as a local committee are ready to succeed in the 40th National Children's Day in Papua," he said.

According to Miryam, the location for the 40th National Children's Day was held in the Jayapura Regency area so that it indirectly involved this area to how to make this activity a success which was planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"The Acting Regent of Jayapura immediately instructed us (DP3A) to coordinate so that this implementation can be successful," he said.

He explained that there was a request from the central committee, in this case the Chairperson of the Solidarity Action Organization for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) Tri Suswati, so that there was a traditional dance involving 3,000 indigenous Papuan children.

"We have coordinated with the Jayapura City Government (Pemkot) so that they can also prepare 2,000 children, and 1,000 Jayapura Regency children prepare," he said.

He added that the peak of the celebration of National Children's Day 40th was a small police parade involving 150 children from Jayapura Regency, Jayapura City 150 children, and Keerom Regency 50 children.

"We have coordinated with the Jayapura District Education Office and they have informed all schools starting from SD-SMA/SMK to send their children to the success of this activity," he said.

The Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab) and the Jayapura City Government became local committees to help the national committee succeed in the 40th National Children's Day on July 23, 2024.
