Ukrainian Military Seizes Modified Russian Tanks Against Drone Attacks

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian military is fighting over tanks for Russian battlefield vehicles. This tank was modified to deal with the threat of a drone strike.

The dilapidated and rusty T-62 tank, modified to have a box-shaped metal shell on its outside, a cage on its back, and an attached electronic warfare device, the army told Reuters on Friday, June 21.

They said the tanks were used to transport food, ammunition and troops. The canopy appears to be aiming to protect against drone attacks, particularly the low-price produced FPV drones, which are tied with ammunition and flown to their targets by surveillance pilots on the screen.

This was created to defend against FPV drones and drone bombs. This is an empty taxi for personnel with electronic warfare as the only defense, "said Serhiy Misura, a lieutenant colonel, on the Ukrainian army's official television station.

Footage of an aerial drone taken by the Ukrainian military and published on June 17 showed the tank was secured in a forest area along with a Russian crew. Kyiv forces then put the Ukrainian flag on it.
