Weather Friday, June 21, Cities In The Country Are Sunny And Cloudy All Day

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in most areas of the provincial capital will be cloudy on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Quoted from the BMKG website in Jakarta, the provincial capital in Indonesia which has the potential to be cloudy during the day is Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Banjarmasin, Tarakan, Mataram, Kupang, Makassar, Manado, and Padang.

Meanwhile, Serang and Surabaya are predicted to be sunny with an average temperature of 24-34 degrees Celsius.

The cities of Gorontalo, Jambi, Palangkaraya, Bandar Lampung, Ternate, Jayapura City, Manokwari, Pekanbaru, and Kendari are predicted to be cloudy this afternoon.

BMKG also warned the public to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning that could potentially occur in Pontianak and Tarakan areas.

Some areas are forecasted to rain with light intensity this afternoon, including in Samarinda, Pangkal Pinang, Ambon, Palembang, and Medan.

Meanwhile, the cities of Mamuju and Tanjung Pinang are predicted to rain with moderate intensity.

Previously, the BMKG stated that it was holding simultaneous weather modification operations in five provinces to overcome the potential for forest and land fires (karhutla).

Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati in a statement in Jakarta said that weather modification operations were active from June 14 - July 15, 2024, starting in Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, West Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan.

He said wetting peatlands and mineral land was the main focus in the weather modification operation as an effort to anticipate or mitigate potential fire disasters ahead of the dry season.
