Bali Police Arrest 147 Drug Case Suspects

DENPASAR - Bali Regional Police arrested 147 perpetrators of narcotics abuse ranging from dealers, intermediaries to couriers during Operation Antik Agung 2024 which was held from May 31 to June 15.

Deputy Director of the Bali Police Narcotics Investigation AKBP Ponco Indriyo said within 16 days, the Bali Police and their ranks arrested 70 people who were included in the operational target category and 77 people were not targeted for operations with evidence of methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy, MDMA, koplo pills and alcoholic beverages.

"The role of the suspects is that as sellers, dealers, become intermediaries in buying and selling drugs, exchanging, buying, handing over or receiving narcotics class one marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy, MDMA, and koplo pills," he said, Thursday, June 20.

Ponco said that of the 147 perpetrators, the Bali Police and their ranks confiscated 4.2 kilograms of marijuana, 2.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 3.2 kilograms of MDMA, 1,253 ecstasy pills, 255 Koplo pills, 1,760 bottles of liquor, and six packages of alcoholic beverages. The confiscated evidence is if the value is around RP3.2 billion.

The suspects are subject to various articles in accordance with the criminal acts committed, namely Article 114 paragraph (1), Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 112 paragraph (1), Article 112 paragraph (2), Article 111 paragraph (1) and Article 111 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"The Bali Police's Narcotics Directorate Investigative Team and investigators are still conducting investigations and deepening of the perpetrators in order to reveal the roles of each perpetrator or suspect so that they can uncover drug networks, both national and international networks," he said.

Ponco Indriyo said the 2024 Antik Agung Operation was a form of the Resnarkoba function in an effort to carry out prevention, eradication, abuse, and illicit drug trafficking (P4GN). The goal is to create a safer and more conducive security and security situation as well as as an effort to suppress drug crimes in the jurisdiction of the Bali Police.

The most prominent thing about the disclosure was the evidence confiscated from the suspect DL in the form of 1.5 kilograms of marijuana. The 25-year-old woman acts as a courier.

He was arrested on June 1, 2024, on Jalan Pulau Buru Number 14, West Denpasar. According to police statement, DL became a courier from a person with the initials TW who had entered the wanted list (DPO). The DL case file has entered the investigation and will soon be transferred to the Prosecutor's Office.
