Proven To Receive 4G BTS Bribe, Achsanul Qosasi Sentenced To 2.5 Years In Prison

Member III of the Inactive Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Achsanul Qosasi was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp250 million after being proven to have accepted bribes in the BTS 4G BAKTI Kominfo project case in 2021.

"The defendant was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and a fine of Rp. 250 million, subsidiary to imprisonment for four months," said Chief Judge Fahzal Hendri in a trial reading the verdict of the Panel of Judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20.

Achsanul was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as in the third alternative indictment of the public prosecutor, namely Article 11 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

The verdict is lighter than the demands of the public prosecutor, namely a five-year prison sentence and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison.

Fahzal said the lighter verdict was mainly because Achsanul was polite in the trial and did not complicate the proceedings, had never been convicted, and had returned all the money that had been illegally received in the amount of 2.64 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp40 billion in the investigation stage.

"Achsanul has also felt sorry and pleaded guilty, so this is a humanitarian consideration," he said.

There is also something that burdens the verdict, namely Achsanul as a state administrator, not trying to realize the implementation of the mandate of the Constitution Number 28 of 1999 in the administration of a state that is clean and free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

Achsanul was proven to have received bribes worth US$2.64 million or equivalent to Rp40 billion to conduct an examination of the BTS 4G BAKTI Kominfo project which will be carried out in 2021.

The bribe money was received from the Director of PT Multimedia Berdikari Sejahtera Windi Purnama with the source of money from the Commissioner of PT Solitech Media Synergy Irwan Hermawan on the orders of former President Director of BAKTI Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif to be handed over to the defendant through the private sector who is also Achsanul's confidant, Sadikin Rusli.

The provision of bribes with the intention that Achsanul helps check the work of BTS 4G 2021 carried out by BAKTI Kominfo in order to get fair results without exception (WTP) and find no state losses in the implementation of the project.
