Despite Entering Kemarau, 18 Regions In The Country Are Still Raining Today

JAKARTA - Although it has entered the dry season, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that 18 provinces in Indonesia will experience heavy rains on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

As quoted from the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Thursday morning, the areas that have the potential to be hit by heavy rains are the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, and the Bangka Belitung Islands.

Furthermore, the provinces of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.

In addition to heavy rains, BMKG also reminded the public to be aware of the rain accompanied by lightning and lightning in a number of areas, namely Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, and Bangka Belitung Islands.

Rain accompanied by lightning and lightning is also expected to flush West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and West Papua.

There are also warnings about rain accompanied by impacts such as floods that can hit areas of West Sumatra, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.

BMKG also reminded the public to be aware of the emergence of strong winds in Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, and Papua.
