Pancasila Youth Supports Anies Baswedan Forward DKI Gubernatorial Election: Powering Must Have Value Of Worship

JAKARTA - The Pancasila Youth National Leadership Council (MPN) announced its support for Anies Baswedan to run as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.

Anies is known to have joined as a cadre of community organizations (ormas) PP since last October 2022. Secretary General of MPN PP revealed that all members are obliged to support Anies.

"We assure ourselves that if Mr. Anies Baswedan gets an assignment for DKI Jakarta, then we must legally support Pancasila Youth cadres, namely Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan," said Arif at the DKI Jakarta PP Secretariat, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19.

During the 2024 presidential election, Pemuda Pancasila also supported Anies as a presidential candidate paired with Muhaimin Iskandar. Therefore, Arif emphasized that PP consistently supports the former governor of DKI Jakarta's political steps in the next contestation.

"I want to look forward to our consistency as Pancasila Youth cadres. When we support someone we pledge to support, we must make our heads our feet, our feet into heads, and we prove that Pancasila Youth cadres are superior cadres in this nation," explained Arif.

Arif emphasized that PP's support for Anies as the cagub of DKI Jakarta was not solely based on the intention of power.

"Who doesn't want to be in power? Everyone wants to be in power. But, ruling without the value of worship is nothing. That's why I hope that what we are doing here, we start with our sincere intentions, and God willing, it has the value of worship," he explained.

Continuing, the Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta Pancasila Youth MPW, Ilyas Abdullah will ensure that all of his cadres support Anies in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election. If not, the PP management will give special sanctions.

"We as cadres must support it to support our cadres whatever it is. If we want to run for the election, we have to support it. It is mandatory. (If someone does not support it), later there will be punishment for it itself," said Ilyas.

Responding to this, Anies thanked PP for continuing to support his political steps. As a cadre, Anies has also reported to MPN PP that he is officially supported by the DKI Jakarta PKB Regional Leadership Council (DPW) as a governor.

"We hope that this spirit will later encourage the PP extended family to fight together," said Anies.
