SEMARANG - Police have arrested eight perpetrators of a brawl on Jalan Anjasmoro Raya, Semarang City, Central Java, which killed a victim on June 16, 2024. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Andika Dharma Sena, said that one of the eight perpetrators of the brawl had been named a suspect for the death of RTA (19) in the incident. "The suspect RR (18) was secured with evidence of a 1.25 meter long sickle allegedly used to injure the victim," he said in Semarang, Antara, Wednesday, June 19. According to him, the brawl started from challenging each other between groups on social media. From the autopsy results, he said, the RTA victim died from bleeding following a wound in the stomach. As for the other seven brawlers, he continued, the role and involvement in the incident are still being investigated For his actions, the defendant was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder or Article 351 of the Criminal Code regarding persecution that killed a person.

The death toll during the brawl was previously revealed when Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang reported that the victim died with a wound to the stomach. RTA victim died from an injury to the stomach due to a sharp weapon.
