Once A Month, SYL Is Said To Remind His Subordinates Not To Be Corruption

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL often reminded his subordinates not to be corrupt every time they hold leadership meetings or echelon I meetings at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

This was conveyed by the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kasdi Subagyono, when he was a witness to the crown for SYL and former Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery (Alsintan), Muhammad Hatta at the trial of the alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities.

"Yes, at that time he conveyed three things as revealed in previous trials. Number one is to work according to the SOP. Then the second is never to violate the rules. Then, the third is no corruption," said Kasdi in a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday, June 19.

"That was conveyed by the leadership every time a meeting like that, yes, we were reminded of that integrity, working according to the SOP, working, not violating the rules and no corruption, not the term KKN," he continued.

Hearing this statement, Chief Judge Rianto Adam Pontoh began to explore the matter of the message. It is questionable when SYL reminded his subordinates about this integrity.

Kasdi said SYL often holds leadership meetings every month. At that moment, the former Minister of Agriculture stressed that his men did not 'play'.

"Yes, what is routine is per month, the noble leadership meeting is chaired by the minister Yasin Limpo," said Kasdi.

During the meeting, SYL also checked the progress of the work of his subordinates.

"Every month you check whether your work program runs or not, right?" asked Judge Rianto.

"That's right," replied Kasdi.

In this case, SYL was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.

This action was carried out together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.

This money was used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. In addition, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 billion from January 2020 to October 2023.
