Democrats Optimistic That The Khofifah-Emil Duet Can Win From Marzuki-Risma In The East Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Democrat Party is optimistic that the duet of Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak can win the East Java Governor Election (Pilgub) if PKB carries the Kiai Marzuki Mustamar-Social Minister Tri Rismaharini pair. It is known, the East Java PKB DPW admitted that recently there was a discourse to pair Kiai Marzuki Mustamar with Social Minister Tri Rismaharini alias Risma in the 2024 East Java Pilkada. "When it comes to the gubernatorial election in East Java, the Democratic Party since the end of last year, December, has provided a letter of recommendation for the Khofifah-Emil pair, to continue the second period, and until now the support from parties for Khofifah-Emil has also increased," said Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Teuku Riefky Harsya at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19. "So we remain optimistic that God willing, Khofifah-Emil can sail and win in the East Java gubernatorial election," he added. Riefky believes that the Khofifah-Emil duo will excel from Marzuki-Risma because the commitment of the incumbent supporting political parties is going well. Until now, Khofifah-Emil has received support from Golkar, PAN, Gerindra, PSI and Democrats. Even though there is experience in East Java about incumbents being able to lose to new people, the Democrats are still optimistic. Because, according to Riefky, the people of East Java were satisfied with Khofifah-Emil's performance while becoming governor and deputy governor.

"Yes, because this is also based on the aspirations of the people of East Java, then also the surveys that we periodically carry out, and the strategies for winning and forming teams that we prepare carefully," he concluded.
