Fire Due To Steam Cylinder Explosion In Laundry Kita: Three Injured Victims

DENPASAR- Karangasem Resort Police, Bali, is investigating the cause of the fire and explosion of vapor cylinders that occurred in Laundry Kita, Jalan KH Samanhudi, Karangsokong Environment, Subagan Village, Karangasem Regency on Monday, June 17 at around 10.30 WITA.

Karangasem Police Chief, AKBP I Nengah Sadirta, stated that the Karangasem Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating the exact cause of the explosion.

The explosion resulted in three laundry employees suffering injuries to several parts of the body. The three victims were:

"As a result of the explosion, the three victims were injured and then assisted by residents to be taken to the Bali Med Hospital Emergency Room on Jalan Nenas Amlapura to get medical treatment," said Karangasem Police Chief, AKBP I Nengah Sadirta, in a statement in Denpasar on Tuesday, June 18.

Based on the testimony of several witnesses, the incident began when the three victims were in the laundry area to do their usual job. When they were about to remove steam from the iron vapor cylinder, suddenly an explosion was born from the vapor tube.

The former Klungkung Police Chief, AKBP I Nengah Sadirta, said that the temporary cause of the explosion was suspected because the ampere control on the vapor tube did not work normally, causing the explosion.

Karangasem Police Chief, AKBP I Nengah Sadirta, directly led the crime scene (TKP) last Monday and continued checking the victims at Bali Med Almapura Hospital to confirm the condition of the victims. "It is not estimated the amount of material losses from this incident," he said. The victims are currently still undergoing treatment at Bali Med Hospital Almapura, Karangasem, Bali.

This case is still under investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and ensure that similar incidents do not happen again. The police will continue to collect evidence and conduct further examinations of vapor cylinders and other facilities in Laundry Kita.

The police also appealed to the public, especially business owners who use steam-based equipment, to carry out routine checks and ensure that all equipment functions properly in order to avoid similar incidents in the future.
