Carrying Anies In The Jakarta Pilkada, PKS Is Not A Problem If It Must Be A Coalition With PDIP

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) does not have a problem if it later has to form a coalition with PDIP if they both support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. The reason is, PDIP has expressed its interest in supporting the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW) said his party had also collaborated with PDIP in several regions in the regional elections.

"(Coalition, ed) With anyone, even with PDIP, we have been in the Pilgub several times and also in the Pilkada," said HNW at the PKS DPP, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 18.

For example, continued HNW, PKS and PDIP form a coalition in the election for the governor of South Sulawesi. "In the past, during the South Sulawesi gubernatorial election, PDI-P also supported PKS candidates. He had become a regent twice in Bantaeng and was then promoted by PKS and PDIP in support. In South Kalimantan, in Banjarmasin and we won time in South Sulawesi," explained HNW.

Then in the Banjarmasin Pilkada, he said, PDIP even invited PKS to file a cawagub. "In Banjarmasin, the mayor of Banjarmasin has also been a PKS coalition with PDIP. Even the PDIP at that time was the winner but invited PKS to become the mayor candidate and we won," he added.

HNW assessed that the PKS and PDIP coalitions were normal in the Pilkada. Because both parties are both election participants who are officially registered with the KPU.

"Both election participants, both have won the presidential election and have never won the presidential election, so we are the same," he concluded.
