Polda: IDR 22 Billion Fake Money Printed At The West Jakarta Accountant Office Has Not Been Circulated

Polda Metro Jaya stated that counterfeit money worth Rp22 billion printed at an accountant's office in the Srengseng area, Kembangan, West Jakarta, had not been circulated to the public.

"We should be grateful that this case has been revealed, we did not have time to spread it to the public," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 17.

Currently, his party is still investigating the circulation of counterfeit money, whether it will be distributed to Jakarta or outside the region.

"This is still being investigated. What is clear is that the suspects were secured with evidence, which was Rp22 billion, counterfeit bills of Rp100 thousand," he said.

Ade Ary also said that three suspects were arrested in connection with the billions of rupiah counterfeit money, namely M, YA and FF.

"They were arrested on Jalan Srengseng Raya Number 3 RT 1 / RW 8, Srengseng, Kembangan, West Jakarta. All three were arrested on June 15, 2024. The counterfeit money is planned to be distributed for Eid al-Adha," he said.

"So this has been secured by Ditreskrimum investigators starting with information from the public. Finally, investigators followed up and finally it was successfully revealed by investigators," he said.

He said the three were subject to Articles 244 and 245 of the Criminal Code. They face a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.

"In addition to counterfeit billions of rupiah, the police confiscated one counter machine, one money cutting machine and one GTO machine or printing machine. Then there were some colorful printing ink," he said.
