Village Fund Empowerment Able To Reduce Unemployment Rate In Temanggung

JAKARTA - The open unemployment rate in Temanggung Regency occupies the second lowest in Central Java Province (Central Java), after Rembang Regency. Community empowerment in villages from Village Funds and labor-intensive activities that can absorb large numbers of local workers determines the reduction in the unemployment rate.

Head of the Temanggung Industry and Manpower Service (Disperinaker) Sri Endang Praptiningsih, in Temanggung, Saturday, said that the unemployment rate in 2023 reached 2.32 percent or 10,982 people.

"The unemployment rate has decreased from 2022 to 12,042 people or 2.54 percent," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, June 15.

In general, the open unemployment rate in Central Java is the lowest in Rembang Regency, then Temanggung Regency and in third place in Semarang City.

According to him, the reduction in the unemployment rate in Temanggung involves all relevant stakeholders and Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).

"Efforts to reduce the open unemployment rate are not only in our offices," he said.

In an effort to reduce the unemployment rate in 2024, his party has held competency-based skills training and productivity funded from the 2024 Tobacco Products Excise Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) of IDR 800 million.

"This training was attended by 208 participants with the aim of increasing the capacity or competence of young women, job seekers, especially to improve the desired skills. Thus, after this training, it is hoped that the participants can be distributed in the world of work as well as become new entrepreneurs," he said.
