Doctors At Lembang Hospital Called By KPK Regarding PPE Allegations Of Corruption

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled the summons of two witnesses related to the corruption case in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) today. One of them is a doctor at Lembang Hospital, Sri Lucy Novita.

"It is scheduled for witness examination," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Friday, June 14.

Apart from Sri, another witness who was also questioned by investigators was Eisen Hower Sitanggang, who is a doctor and ASN of the West Bandung District Health Office. Tessa has not detailed the examination material but they are considered to know the chaotic practices that are being investigated.

"The investigation was carried out at the Kota Besar Police or Polrestabes Bandung, West Java," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) for the period 2020-2022 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number is more than one person but his identity has not been disclosed.

From the results of the temporary investigation, the value of state losses caused reached hundreds of billions of rupiah. The project value is IDR 3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages.

In this case, five people have been prevented from leaving the country. Based on circulating information, they are Budi Karya as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.
