The Governor Of Bali Wants The Enforcement Of Naughty Foreigners To Be Completed

DENPASAR - Acting Governor of Bali Sang Made Mahendra Jaya wants the prosecution of rogue foreign nationals (WNA) to be carried out so as not to create a negative image of tourism on the Island of the Gods.

"We want the handling to be complete, not half-hearted," said Mahendra Jaya in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, Thursday, JUNE 13.

According to him, Bali's economy depends on the tourism sector which is currently starting to rise after almost three years of being severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is shown by Bali's economic growth which in the first quarter of 2024 reached 5.98 percent and during 2023 it reached 5.71 percent.

For this reason, in order not to cause a bad impact, the handling of problematic foreigners needs to be carried out optimally.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Director of Tourism Marketing for the Archipelago of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Dwi Marhen Yono explained that his party was collaborating with Immigration to make orderly visiting tourist destinations in Bali.

"We have compiled and don't. What tourists can and cannot do is cooperate with Immigration so that when they enter Indonesia, they can be scanned, they can read the rules," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 13.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali during January to June 7, 2024, as many as 135 foreigners from 41 countries in the world have been deported from Bali. Of that number, the ten countries most deported came from Australia as many as 18 people, then Russia (17), the United States (14), Britain (8), Iran (6), Tanzania (6), Ukraine, Japan and Germany each with five people and Italy (4). There were violations committed, including those who exceeded their stay, ex-convicts, traditional violations and did not comply with the laws. Meanwhile, during 2023, as many as 340 foreigners were deported or increased compared to 2022 which reached 188 foreigners expelled from Bali.
