The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of Foreigners Who Fell On The Labuan Bajo Pinisi Ship

LABUAN BAJO - The joint search and rescue team (SAR) evacuated a toddler from a foreign national (WNA) who suffered head injuries after falling on a phinisi ship while sailing in the waters of Komodo Village, Komodo National Park Area (TNK), West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The male toddler from New Zealand with the initials LJR (4) fell around the door at the phinisi ship bridge called Catamaran Coco owned by his parents," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office, Supriyanto Ridwan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 13.

He explained that Basarnas Maumere through the West Manggarai SAR Post received information about the incident from a resident of Komodo Village who said the toddler needed medical help.

"Then the team tried to contact the victim's mother to convey that the team would immediately go to the location to carry out medical evacuations," he explained.

The joint SAR team then deployed the main equipment (defense equipment) of the RIB ship (rigid inflatable boat) of the West Manggarai SAR Post to the scene. At around 18.25 WITA the joint SAR team arrived at the location and immediately took a toddler with his mother to Labuan Bajo.

The joint SAR team, he continued, arrived at Marina Labuan Bajo Port at around 19:10 WITA and then took the victim who was accompanied by his parents Siloam Labuan Bajo Hospital for medical treatment.

"The toddler is in good health, but still feels pain in the head," he said.

The victim's mother admitted that her family departed from Labuan Bajo to Bali using the Catamaran Coco phinisi ship on Thursday morning.

However, while in the waters of Komodo Village at 13:00 WITA, the victim who was playing in front of the ship's door was found to have fallen and the victim's front head was seriously injured, requiring medical evacuation.
