PSI Calls Never Discussing Anies-Kaesang Duet In The DKI Gubernatorial Election With PKB

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Desk Council Justin Adrian Untayana confirmed that he had established communication with the National Awakening Party (PKB) regarding coalition opportunities in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada. However, Justin emphasized that there has been no discussion regarding the opportunity to pair Anies Baswedan and PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep as candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta with PKB. "Communication (with PKB) exists. However, we never talked about the Anie-Kaesang duet," Justin told reporters, Thursday, June 13. Justin said PSI was still opening communication with all political parties (political parties) for coalition opportunities. So, it is not certain that the Anies-Kaesang duet discourse will be realized. "We are open to communicating with many parties. We thank PKB for juxtaposing our Ketum with the Jakarta PKB "jagoan" which in this case is Mas Anies. However, until now everything is still very dynamic," explained Justin. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he accepted if he received an offer to be paired with Anies Baswedan in the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election. "I don't have a problem if later it will be paired with Pak Anies," said Kaesang at the PSI DPP office, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12. Although he has not yet decided whether to run for the DKI Jakarta Pilkada, President Joko Widodo's son assesses that there will be a positive impact if he is paired with Anies.

According to Kaesang, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta has high electability and is supported by many Jakartans to return to leadership. "It doesn't matter, I think it's also good. I think Mr. Anies is also now the highest survey," said Kaesang.
