Searching For Continued Roads, KPK Asks Fugitive Harun Masiku To Surrender

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said the search for fugitive briber former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, Harun Masiku continues. However, he also hopes that the former legislative candidate in the 2019 Legislative Election will surrender.

"Yes, thankfully, if the person concerned on this occasion might hear then surrender, that would be better," Alexander told reporters quoted on Thursday, June 13.

Alexander then detailed that investigators had been trying to find Harun in various locations. Including abroad such as the Philippines and Malaysia.

"It's been four years, four years doesn't mean we're not looking for it," he said.

"Some information, for example related to the whereabouts of the person concerned, at that time in the Philippines we sent a team there. There is information that he said he was the marbot of the mosque in Malaysia, we sent a team there. What does that mean, for the past four years we are actually looking for, "continued Alexander.

As a leader, he guarantees that every information that comes in regarding Harun's whereabouts will definitely be followed up. As it is now, investigators are speeding up the search.

"Based on the information received, of course we will try to find the person concerned," he said.

As previously reported, Harun Masiku became a fugitive after being named a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the DPR through interim shifts (PAW).

The investigators have now examined four witnesses to find their whereabouts. One of them is PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto on Monday, June 10.
