Update On COVID-19 As Of March 15: 5.589 New Cases, Active Cases Decreased To 136.524

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 47.808 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.589 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.425.044 people and active cases decreased by 1.388 to 140.451 cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health, Monday, March 15.

Recovered cases today increased by 6.830 cases, so that a total of 1.249.947 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 147 people and a total of 38.573 people.

The province with the newest cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1.555 cases and a total of 361.535 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.334 new cases with a total of 233.026 cases. Central Java has 700 new cases and a total of 161.595 cases. Then, Banten has 290 new cases and a total of 32.431 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.792 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 1.572 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 575 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 480 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were Aceh and West Kalimantan. In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11.643.854.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 20.33 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 63.957 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 4.166.862 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.572.786 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
