PKB Opens Opportunities To Install Anies With Kaesang In The 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PKB Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Hasbiallah Ilyas admitted that his party had established communication with PSI regarding coalition opportunities in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"There is already a coalition, which has been discussed, the point is that there is currently communication with PSI," said Hasbi at the DPW PKB Jakarta Office, East Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12.

DPW PKB Jakarta has officially supported Anies Baswedan to be promoted as a candidate for Governor of Jakarta 2024.

Thus, Hasbi opened the opportunity to pair Anies with PSI Chairman who is also the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep.

"We are open to anyone's deputy governor, including Mas Kaesang. We are willing if Mas Kaesang really wants to nominate the Deputy Governor of DKI," said Hasbi.

Previously, there were a number of names who registered as candidates for the Governor of Jakarta to the PKB. However, PKB Jakarta decided to carry Anies after a working meeting for the Jakarta Pilkada desk last weekend.

Anies had previously registered as a candidate for governor of Jakarta to PKB and took part in the fit and proper test selected by the PKB Pilkada Decree.

"It is impossible for me to announce Pak Anies' candidacy to become governor in 2024. Mr. Anies is already in the UKK, he has taken the form. Thank God, all of that has been completed," said Hasbi.

The chairman of the PKB faction of the Jakarta DPRD also explained the reason for his support for Anies even though previously PKB had revealed the name of one of its cadres, Ida Fauziyah, to be prepared as a candidate for governor of Jakarta.

"We have to be realistic. PKB has conducted a survey, who understands that Jakarta is Anies Baswedan. Incumbent DKI Jakarta or DKJ needs to be maintained so that development is not stuck," he said.

The plan is that, Thursday, June 13, Anies will visit the DKI Jakarta PKB DPW office to strengthen its support in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Tomorrow we will give it to Mr. Anies Baswedan to work downstairs, go down to the community to socialize that he is nominating the governor from PKB," said Hasbi.
