Wantimpres Participates In Government Decree Regarding IUPK Religious Organizations

JAKARTA - Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Luthfi Ali Yahya said his party was following the government's decision regarding the Special Mining Business License (IUPK) for religious-based community organizations (ormas). Habib Luthfi, as he is familiarly called, said that so far Wantimpres has never been invited to deliberation regarding the granting of mining management permits for religious organizations. "We have never been invited to deliberation. So I can't say whether this is a problem or not. We just follow what the government wants, if it is considered good, go ahead. But if it is considered by the government not (good), yes we follow, it is the same," said Habib Luthfi after meeting President Joko Widodo, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, June 11. He conveyed that the Wantimpres had not yet provided input to the President regarding this matter. Habib Luthfi has not been able to personally weigh the granting of the mining management permit. "I can't weigh yet. I'm not that easy to decide," he said. Regarding the rejection of a number of certain religious organizations, Luthfi Ali Yahya considered it to be the right of mass organizations. "Yes, it's up to them, they have rights, we have to respect them. Democracy really," the value.

Meanwhile, regarding his meeting with President Joko Widodo today, Luthfi admitted that he only discussed personal matters.
