Forward Indonesia Coalition Proposes Dedi Mulyadi-Bima Arya In The 2024 West Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed talks within the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) regarding the possibility of carrying the Dedi Mulyadi-Bima Arya pair for the 2024 West Java Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

It is known that Dedi Mulyadi is a Gerindra cadre while Bima Arya is a cadre of the National Mandate Party (PAN).

"Yes, the discussion with coalition friends in West Java is indeed more aimed at Dedi Mulyadi and his cawagub Mr. Bima Arya," Dasco told reporters at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 11.

Dasco stated that KIM, who previously carried Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election, was still conducting an internal survey regarding the opportunity for the Dedi Mulyadi-Bima Arya pair in West Java. His party is also exploring consolidation to form a winning team.

"We are also conducting surveys, while waiting for registration in August, of course, these surveys will continue to be carried out and the strengthening below will continue," said Dasco.

Furthermore, Dasco denied any differences of opinion between the Gerindra Party and the Golkar Party regarding the nomination of regional heads, especially Ridwan Kamil. According to him, Golkar, which is also part of KIM, carries Ridwan Kamil for the West Java or Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"Actually, it's not a difference of opinion, these are the calculations that are more priority, go forward where to win. So the calculations are like that and have actually been hit by friends from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition party," concluded Dasco.

Previously, the Chairman of the National Mandate Party, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) said that the former regent of Purwakarta, Dedi Mulyadi, was likely to be promoted by Gerindra to run in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election.

Zulhas said the decision was in line with the possibility of Gerindra carrying out the former Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil to run in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"Gerindra is also now Ridwan Kamil. Later whose deputy will be, it has only been agreed. In the meantime, if it is in Jakarta Ridwan Kamil, then it is possible that in West Java Gerindra Dedi Mulyadi. The deputy will be inshallah PAN," said Zulhas after giving recommendations for Al Haris and Murad Ismail to run in the Maluku and Jambi gubernatorial elections, Thursday 6 June 204.
