Nawawi Pomolango Regarding The Revision Of The KPK Law: It Becomes Interesting If It Is Changed Every Time Of Leadership

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Nawawi Pomolango, responded to the discourse on the Revision of Law (UU) Number 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK. He imagines that if the regulation is always revised every term of office.

"Interestingly, if each leadership period is revised, it will be interesting," said Nawawi at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 11.

Nevertheless, Nawawi was reluctant to comment further on what points needed to be revised. He considered what the KPK would look like if the rules were always changed.

"Yes, if something is changed, what kind of institution is it like," said Nawawi. Previously, the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Bambang Wuryanto alias Bambang Pacul was open if the KPK Council wanted to encourage the revision of the KPK Law.

"Just suggest that if Mr. Tumpak (Chairman of the Council) can later convey the revision of Law Number 19 like this, we will be very happy," Bambang said in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) at Commission III of the DPR, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 5.

According to the Secretary of the PDIP Faction, amendments to the five-year-old KPK Law are important. Because it can accommodate various complaints against the regulation.

"Because this is also the law in 2019, we can rearrange it for five years, because many have complained too," said Pacul.
