Katingan Police, Central Kalimantan, investigated the case of a resident being killed by a homemade firearm while hunting deer in the forest of Tumbang Lebaning Village, Katingan Regency. "The victim is on behalf of Hendro (49). Meanwhile, we have detained the perpetrator on behalf of Joniadi (30)," said Katingan Police Chief AKBP I Gede Putu Widyana in Kasongan, Antara, Tuesday, June 11. He explained that the incident began on Sunday, June 9 at around 06.00 WIB when the two witnesses on behalf of Wisono left the hut along with his younger brother named Jeri to lift a trap or trap of deer. Furthermore, the perpetrator who aims to hunt deer passed by the two witnesses who will also see deer snares. The perpetrator was carrying a homemade firearm and machete along with a black hanging bag. Three minutes later, the perpetrator came to the witness saying he saw a deer. Not long after, one gunshot was heard. Unfortunately, after seeing it, it turned out that Hendro's victim was lying with a gunshot wound. Katingan Hulu Police Chief Ipda Muhammad Ali Wardana Harahap explained that the perpetrator was a relative of the victim. The two of them lived in the same hut for 7 years and worked as gold miners in Tumbang bordering village. At that time, the perpetrator suspected that the victim behind the bush was a deer. After seeing that, the perpetrator immediately fired at the moving bush. "The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left chest," said Ali Wardana. The evidence that was secured was in the form of a long-barreled homemade firearm, black clothing rope, seven tin bullets, powder, fire lighters, bullet blockages and machetes.

The police chief also appealed to the public to be careful when using various types of sharp weapons, especially the ownership of homemade firearms must have official permission from related parties.
